Endless Longings is story of a young girl starting from her
birth in Kashmir and subsequent displacement from birthplace due to violence.
The entire experience of uprootedness, sudden impoverishment, and inability to
adapt to new lands identity crises becomes major part of the girl’s narrative. The
Kashmiri girl, Sheen takes the reader through a life journey impacted by
nature, relationship, love, longings and upheavals.
A poet at heart, the author, Sharmistha Koul Sharma has
always loved to write about human feelings and nature. In her first book, she
draws inspiration from the composite culture of the Valley amidst which she was
born as well as resilience of human spirit to flight adversity. Sharmistha has
studied Sociology at Delhi University and Jawahar Lal Nehru University. The
author works as a Civil Servant in the Ministry of Defence, Government of
India.
